Much of the success of Munson Medical Center’s
Heart Program can be accredited to a network of highly-regarded
cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons. Together with the patient’s
primary physician, they form a team dedicated to producing the
best possible outcomes.
In total, 22 board-certified cardiologists
offer the latest technologies such as ablation, electrophysiology,
stents,
atherectomy,
and intravascular coronary ultrasound (IVUS). Sixteen cardiologists
practice in Traverse City.
Munson Healthcare Cardiologists also see patients in Alpena, Bear Lake, Cadillac, Frankfort, Gaylord, Grayling, Kalkaska, and Sault Ste. Marie.
Our three board-certified cardiothoracic surgeons
are among the best in the country, specializing in surgeries of
the heart, valves, and lungs. They offer the newest techniques
in open heart surgery. These include utilizing radial arteries
for grafting and performing minimally invasive surgery on a “beating
heart.”
